Google Customer Reviews taking over from Google Trusted Stores

The Google Trusted Stores program has been replaced with the new Google Customer Reviews program. Learn more here.

googlecustomerreviewsYou may have noticed on your favourite e-commerce site that the Google Trusted Stores badge that used to appear floating in the lower right or left hand corner has been replaced by a new "Google Customer Reviews" badge. That's because Google has essentially replaced the old Trusted Stores program (which offered guarantees by Google for purchases in addition to customer reviews) with the new simplified Google Customer Reviews program. Google's approach here is to highlight positive reviews from other customers as a new confidence trigger. The program allows websites to collect feedback from customers who have purchased from your site. These result in seller ratings, and these seller ratings can appear in Google AdWords search campaign ads, in Google Shopping campaign ads, and as an optional ad that can appear on a website in place of where the old Trusted Stores badge would have appeared. More information on this new program can be found on Google's Merchant Center help page.
